Vilachá is the only parish of A Pobra do Brollón that borders the river Sil, where grape cultivation for wine is of great importance. This region belongs to the subregion of Quiroga Bibei of the D.O. Ribera Sacra. As well as the impressive beauty of its riverbanks which can be enjoyed from the viewing point in this area, Vilachá is famous for its grouping of centuries old bodegas.
Almost fifty slate roof bodegas are found here which have government protection and are officially recognised as being of “Interés Turístico” Touristic Interest, as they are some of the oldest in the Iberian peninsula.
In Vilachá de Salvadur they hold the traditional “Cata de los Vinos” Wine Tasting every first weekend in May.
