If you leave A Pobra do Brollón in the direction of the Caurel, the last village you come to is Parada dos Montes. A typical mountain village where time appears to have stood still. Houses, stables and barns are grouped together along the road as if they were one living space. The houses maintain traditional wooden balconies which join together to create tunnels in the streets that protect the machinery and animals from the inclement weather conditions. The land on which the village is built is rocky, the buildings face the midday sun, protecting them from northerly winds and heavy snowfall. This is a place that must be visited.
